JJ’s Nightclub – Entrance Canopy

A recent installation of a bespoke Cambridge Cantilever entrance canopy for JJ’s nightclub in Coventry. During refurbishment works of the shopping centre it became necessary to relocate the main entrance of the nightclub from inside the shopping centre to outside, making it preferable for the establishment to provide cover for queueing revellers waiting to enter during inclement weather.

A number of hurdles were overcome during the project, such as the removal of existing cladding for inspection to locate the building’s main steel structure so that we could bolt the main canopy beam back to it, determining the glass thickness required to span 1.8m widths between the canopy arms and matching the existing canopy that this new canopy would be located next to. All-in-all a challenging project to be involved in, but we rose to the challenge to install a super canopy that will provide shelter for the many wet nights that lay ahead.

The canopy measures 2.5m wide x 14.55m long and is clad with 17.5mm toughened laminated glass.
